Read time: 3 mins

A big thank you to my sponsors who help me deliver this to your inbox for free:

Today’s edition is brought to you by Matik, helping you automate the creation & sending of your business reviews and other personalized, data-driven content. See it in action!

1/ Storytelling Made Easy - Kelly Parker

Watch Time: 12 mins

Kelly Parker has been a marketer and keynote speaker for over 15 years. She teaches people how to use her simple methods for success.

In this captivating quick talk, you'll learn how to use the power of stories to connect with your audience.

Here are my 4 takeaways from this session:

  1. Storytelling is a powerful leadership tool.

  2. We are 20 times more likely to remember facts if they're part of a story.

  3. Stories create powerful connections between the storyteller and the listener.

  4. To create effective stories, you must understand your audience's problems and deepest desires.

Now.

How can YOU apply these in your day-to-day interactions to be more effective?

  • Understand your customers’ pain points

Take time to listen to their stories.

Ask open-ended questions to learn more about their challenges and needs.

  • Inspire and motivate

Share the stories of other customers who achieved similar goals using your solutions.

  • Build stronger relationships

    Acknowledge their challenges and successes.

Listen actively so you can build more trust and empathy.

2/ How Great Leaders Inspire Action - Simon Sinek

Watch time: 18 mins

No need to introduce Simon Sinek as you most likely know who he is.

A motivational speaker and author, known for his focus on leadership, management, and inspiring people to pursue their goals.

And this one is an epic talk he gave almost 15 years ago.

Here are my top 3 key takeaways:

  1. People buy into the Why - not the What or How

Your goal is to inspire others and drive success for your customers. So start by communicating your Why in a plain clear way.

  2. The power of starting with Why

Create an emotional connection with your customers. Go beyond the features of your product.

  3. People do things that prove what they believe

If your customers believe in the Why of your product, they are more likely to take action to show their belief in it. For example, they might line up for hours to buy it, tell others about it, or become repeat customers.

The lesson for you here:

Focus more on the "why" in your interactions.

And not just the "what" or "how".

Here are 3 practical ways you can do so:

  1. Help customers define their "why"

Dig deeper to understand their purpose or values driving their goals.

  2. Communicate with empathy

Listen carefully to what they say about their concerns and needs.

This will show your customers that you have a genuine interest in their success.

And build more trust and confidence in return.

  3. Celebrate successes

We tend to focus on things that go wrong or don’t work.

And forget to see how far we’ve come along the way.

So celebrate the wins more often.

It will also help you build a positive relationship between you and your customers.

3/ The Paradox Of Choice - Barry Schwartz

Watch time: 20 mins

And finally: fewer choices, more opportunities.

Barry Schwartz is an American psychologist and author known for his research on decision-making, motivation, and the paradox of choice.

My 3 key takeaways from this 16-year-old talk:

  1. Having too many choices can cause decision paralysis, anxiety, and dissatisfaction.

  2. Even if people make a choice, having too many options can lead to less satisfaction.

  3. Having plenty of choices raises expectations and can make people less engaged.

Lessons for you here:

You can use the principles outlined by Barry Schwartz in 3 ways to drive success for your customers:

  1. Simplify choices

Don’t overwhelm them with too many options.

In your emails, communications, and call-to-actions.

    -

Create, automate, and deliver stellar customer business reviews.

See how Matik helps you nail the process here.

    -

    The result:

Your customers will feel more confident.

They'll also make better and faster decisions.

  2. Personalize offerings

Provide personalized offerings based on your customer’s preferences and past behavior.

This will ensure they receive options that are the most relevant and useful to them.

  3. Manage expectations

Be clear and transparent about what your customers can expect from your solutions.

Set realistic expectations to avoid disappointing customers down the line.

And as I like to say:

    Under promise, but always over-deliver.

This post is public. Please share, and your friends will thank you for helping them level up.
